Luka Solomon's three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning earned the Magic a spot in the Provincial Final. Solomon also was the winning pitcher despite giving up four runs in three innings of work. Danika Nell adds two hits and two runs for the Magic, who'll play for gold at 2:00 p.m.

Alyssa Bjarnarson reached base four times and scored four runs to help the Thunder earn a trip to the Canadian Championship and a spot in the Provincial semifinal.

Natasha Driedger tripled twice and drove in three runs to lead the Central Energy to the victory. The win allow Central to qualify for next month's Western Canadian Championship in Winnipeg.

Natalie Draper reached base three times and scored a pair of runs to pace the Magic offensively while Danika Nell allowed one run on two hits with six strikeouts to pick up the win for Westman while Luka Solomon reached base twice and scored a pair of runs.

Westman improved to 5-and-0 with the shutout victory over the Thunder. Danika Nell allowed three hits and struck out six in four innings while also homering and scoring twice at the dish for the Magic.

Sara Greaves and Agra Haip reached base three times and scored three runs each for the Lightning, with Haip hitting a home run in the process.

Hope Ransome’s two-run single in the top of the sixth inning broke a scoreless tie as the Thunder kept their playoff hopes alive.

The Magic completed an undefeated round-robin with a 3-2 victory over the Terminators Danika Nell doubled twice, scored a pair of runs including the winner in the bottom of the seventh inning and also picked up the win on the mound.

Logan Harz had two hits and scored a pair of runs for the Wildcats, who forced a tiebreaker for sixth-place and a spot in the 2019 Western Canadian Championship with the victory.

Jillian Matsubara continued her strong Championship performance with a pair of doubles and two runs scored for Smitty’s while Danika Peters reached base four times for the Terminators.

Interlake Phillies 15 Manitoba Angels 9

Interlake won a slugfest with a six-run second inning. Alyssa Proctor reached base three times including two hits and scored three runs for the Phillies while Maddy McRae added three singles, two RBI and a pair of runs.

Winnipeg Lightning 6 Manitoba Thunder 1

The Lightning picked up their first win of the Championship thanks to a six-run fifth inning. Agra Haid and Sara Greaves combined on a five-hitter for Winnipeg.

Westman Magic 8 Central Energy 0

The host Magic scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning and went on to their second straight win to start the Championship. Danika Nell tossed four innings of no-hit ball with seven strikeouts to pick up the win for the Magic while Luka Soloman had two singles and scored three runs to pace Westman offensively.

A three-run sixth inning helped the Terminators to the come-from-behind victory. Elly Holden's two-run single was the big hit in the decisive inning for Smitty's.

Eight runs in the top of the first inning helped pace the Magic to their third consecutive victory. Jordyn Bradbury and Jessie Henry had two hits and scored a pair of runs each for Westman while Madison McDonald struck out nine in picking up the complete game win.

A four-run fourth inning helped Eastman to their first win of the Championship. Macki Bergen had two hits and scored two runs for the Wildcats while Claire Heide picked up the win on the mound.

Katie Vigier had three hits, drove in four runs and scored three times herself to lead the Lightning to the shutout victory.

Luka Solomon tossed a three-hit shutout for the Magic with six strikeouts in a game the ended after four innings due to the run-ahead rule. Brooklyn Franklin had two hits and scored three runs to pace the Magic offensively.

Laura Ransome and Hope Ransome combined on a no-hitter for the Thunder, recording a total of 15 strikeouts.

The Westman Magic will be hoping to take advantage of home field this weekend whent he Softball Manitoba U14 ‘A’ Girls’ Championship takes place at the Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex in Brandon.

The Magic have had a highly successful season to date, posting a 14-4 regular season record in the Manitoba Ladies’ Super Softball League.

The club has also captured gold this season at the ICT Tournament in Winnipeg, the Saskatoon Presidents Tournament and, most recently, the Red River Rage Tournament in Fargo, North Dakota this past weekend.

The 2019 event will also feature the introduction of a four-day Provincial Championship by Softball Manitoba.

The eight-team Championship will include a full round-robin on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with a playoff round to follow on Sunday.

This will guarantee that there will be a gold medal game on the final day.

In addition to determining the Provincial Champion, the Softball Manitoba U14 ‘A’ Girls’ Championship will determine the teams that will represent Manitoba at the Softball Canada U14 Championship in Montreal, Quebec from August 7-11 and the Western Canadian U14 Championship to be held in Winnipeg from August 8-11.

The Softball Manitoba U14 ‘A’ Girls’ Championship is being co-hosted by the Westman Softball Association, the Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex Committee and the Westman Softball Umpires’ Association.
